Glimpses and flashbacks

I had a great transgenerational moment today. S and I were on the couch working on homework. After I answered her questions, I just stayed sitting next to her. I picked up a rubber mallet that the kids had been using, and started bouncing it on top of my knee. Of course, my foot jerked up several times. As I moved it around looking for the most effective spot, we got the giggles. I had a quick glimpse of about 10-15 years in the future, when she will again be my buddy (after the teen years). Then I flashed back to the many times Mommy and I have giggled until we cried. I sure miss you, Mom. I can't wait 'til you come home and we can giggle ourselves silly again.
